SHAPES Technical Review

On September 22, EDGE was one of the partners attending the first technical revision of the SHAPES Project, dedicated to the implementation of an innovative platform to improve the quality of life of older individuals, often confronted with the temporary or permanent loss of functional capabilities.
Following the lead of the Project Officer and the three evaluators nominated by the European Commission, the technical review of the SHAPES Project addressed the results achieved in the first nine months of work, the developed activities, the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the future plans. All documents presented to the European Commission were accepted and it was agreed that the first project milestone had been achieved, fulfilling the proposed objectives.
One of the main conclusions of SHAPES’s first technical review is that its innovative results and ambition maintain a significant impact in the ongoing European initiatives to improce the quality of life of older individuals. In this context, the implementation of a large-scale pilot campaign, involving more than 2000 participants in 15 pilot sites across Europe, remains a fundamental pillar to the project and a guarantee of the long-term sustainability of SHAPES digital solution ecosystem.
